A folk culture show was staged in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 16.
This was the first time such a show performed by farmers and herdsmen has been held in Hohhot.
During the show, farmers and herdsmen from different villages in the region staged a series of performances featuring their local cultural traditions, such as fan dances and Jin Opera, winning repeated rounds of applause from the audience.
A "Kuaiban" performance (something like rap with traditional Chinese allegro instrument to get tempos) from Taipingzhuang village told the story of villagers’ experiences over the past 40 years.
The show highlighted how rural Inner Mongolia has been transformed over the past 40 years, since China's reform and opening up.
