Zhou Liujun, vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Mark Suzman, chief strategy officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on July 20 for an exchange of views on the foundation’s work.

Zhou briefed Suzman on what the agency shoulders and why it was established, and said good progress has been made in helping fellow developing countries reduce poverty and increase health and fitness services thanks to several years’ cooperation with the Gates Foundation. The agency will work with the foundation to strengthen communication, mutual trust and cooperation, so as to make positive contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative and a shared future for mankind.
On behalf of Bill and Melinda Gates Suzman expressed his sincere congratulations on the establishment of the agency. He said that the Gates Foundation is ready to complement the agency’s work, and explore trilateral cooperation in Asia and Africa towards long-term and stable cooperative relations that help developing countries implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
