A delegation comprising of officials and business representatives from the Kansai region of Japan is paying a visit to Northeast China's Liaoning province to seek industrial and economic cooperation opportunities, from July 15 to 19.
The delegation will be visiting Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning province, Dalian and Shenfu New Area.
Liaoning has a long history of links with Japan, and both sides have products and services that are required by the other, said Li Tianran, consul-general of China's consulate in Osaka.
I hope more Japanese businesses set up operations in Liaoning, he added.
Shizuka Hideki, consul-general of Japan's consulate in Shenyang, echoed Li's sentiments and outlined some of the problems both sides face, including an ageing population, pollution, and the need to upgrade technology and communications infrastructure.
In addition, representatives from Hitachi Zosen Corporation and Neusoft Group gave briefings on their operations and development strategies, at a trade meeting held in Shenyang on July 15.
