Ulaanqab holds classic calligraphy contest

A teenager paints Chinese characters in a font called bangshu, an ancient writing type that appeared before Qin Dynasty unified the texts, in Ulaanqab (Ulanqab), Inner Mongolia autonomous region on July 18. More than 70 calligraphers from Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Inner Mongolia, Hunan, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Yunnan and Shaanxi attended the bangshu writing event.
