Songhua River metro tunnel due for October completion

A construction worker checks circuits in a tunnel under Songhua River on July 16. Construction work on a metro tunnel linking Sun Island Station to People’s Square Station is currently proceeding at a rate of 18 meters per day. The whole tunnel is 1.9 kilometers long, with the majority of the tunnel running under Songhua River. Currently, one third of the tunnel has been completed.
