Brilliance Auto Group and BMW Group recently reached a long-term framework agreement for the manufacture of all-electric cars. Both parties agreed to expand production and export to global markets.
“As part of our global strategy, BMW Brilliance is expected to play an important role in the development of new energy vehicles,” said Gao Le, president and CEO of BMW Group in Greater China.
BMW and Brillance Auto, its only Chinese partner, have established a joint venture with investment of more than 52 trillion yuan ($7.77 trillion). Since 2003, the two auto giants have been working closely together to continually improve the quality of Brilliance Auto.
The new agreement will see BMW Group establish a manufacturing base for new energy vehicles built for global markets while further promoting cooperation between China and Germany.
