Smart electrical service center opens in Yangzhou

A brand new smart electrical service center of the State Grid, offering more convenience for locals with their electricity related affairs, opened in downtown Yangzhou on June 26. 

Services available include the process of paying electricity bills being simplified and advice on how to use hi-tech appliances and save energy. 

Cao Siming, an official from the State Grid Yangzhou Power Supply Company, said the new service center features changes in its overall layout and business pattern. 

The center is equipped with internet technology and high-end equipment, which can provide locals with a more convenient way of dealing with their electricity related affairs. 

Stepping into the service center, you will not be served by a real person but by an intelligent robot named Jiajia, who greets you at the gate and offers you a guide service.

"I never thought it would be so convenient and considerable. As beforehand, I had to stand in long queues and wait for a long time before someone would attend to my business," said a senior citizen surnamed Liu, who, with the help of a staff member, finished paying his bills on a self-service terminal in just two minutes. 

The center also features an online experiencing area, where local residents can freely use the prepared smart phones, tablets, and the State Grid's self-developed mobile applications, and get their personal business dealt with in a drastically reduced amount of time. 

The smart home appliances area introduces locals to new possibilities of improving their way of life through the use of hi-tech appliances. Additionally, the comprehensive energy service area, targeting companies with large energy consumption, can offer them various personalized energy solutions. 

"With the number of our clients growing and their demands diversifying, it is of a great necessity to cater the traditional service center more to the needs of the client," said a spokesperson for the company.
