Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by Shenyang Normal University, a training program for university presidents from Russian-speaking countries opened at Shenyang Normal University in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 5.
According to the Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, Liaoning has maintained close economic and trade links with Russian-speaking countries, and the training program is expected to further strengthen ties between the two sides, not only in education, but also in economics, trade, and culture.
A total of 34 participants from seven countries –– Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Ukraine –– are taking part in the program.
During the activity, well-known experts and scholars in China’s education sector will lecture on topics such as cooperation between foreign and Chinese universities, current relationships and likely future developments between Liaoning province and Russian-speaking countries along the Belt and Road.
In addition, scholars from Peking University, East China Normal University, Dalian University of Technology and other universities will join the participants, to explore effective models of cooperation between universities in China and Russian-speaking countries.
The training program will last for 21 days.
