A group of 103 students from Soochow University as well as another 11 universities in Taiwan started their summer camp at Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, on July 9.
The camp, which is part of the "Tour of Charming Northeast China", offers travel, study and other fun activities.

The "Tour of Charming Northeast China" kicked off on July 8 and will last until July 15.
A wide range of activities have been planned for the campers including a photography competition, academic meetings, field investigations, presentations and a big party.
The campers will have multiple opportunities to appreciate the natural landscape and folk customs and experience life with local families.

Li Yuanyuan, president of Jilin University, said with 16 years of development, the Tour of Charming Northeast China has become a brand of academic and cultural exchange between students of Taiwan and the Chinese mainland.
He believed that the activities would serve as a bridge for the cross-Strait exchange.
The "Tour of Charming Northeast China" was initiated by Jilin University in 2002 and is held annually to improve mutual understanding and friendship.
