Shanxi university delegation attracts professionals in UK

A Shanxi university delegation led by Zhang Peiliang, an educational inspector for Shanxi Provincial Education Department, recently held a promotion meeting in University College London (UCL) to attract more overseas talents and professionals.

Zhang said that Britain leads the world in education and scientific research, and gathers top talents and professionals in various fields from all over the world. He hoped that more overseas Chinese in Britain, especially these born in Shanxi province, will come back to work in the province and contribute to its development.

Shanxi's talent and professional introduction policies were explained at the promotion meeting. Representatives from Shanxi universities and colleges, such as North University of China, Shanxi Normal University and Taiyuan Institute of Technology, also promoted their talent introduction policies during the event.

Li Huiliang, a professor in molecular mechanisms of neural development at UCL, presided over the meeting. The delegation toured UCL after the meeting.

Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL, which ranks seventh in QS World Rankings in 2018, is London's leading multidisciplinary university, with more than 13,000 staff and 38,000 students from 150 countries. It has 60 fellows of the Royal Society, 121 fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences and 30 winners of the Nobel Prize.
