Symposium on Thousand Talents Plan held in Harbin

A symposium on the Thousand Talents Plan’s recruitment program of global experts was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, on July 3.

Representatives from 20 administrations of foreign expert affairs around the country attended the meeting.

Xia Mingjiu, deputy administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, delivered a speech.

Xia pointed out that the Recruitment Program of Global Experts of the Thousand Talents Plan has achieved the goal of leading the provinces and cities to introduce talents, innovate foreign talents introduction policies, and obtain scientific research results.

China will further transform government functions to reform institutions managing foreign talent affairs. It will also constantly improve policies to create a good working environment for researchers at home and abroad, and promote the introduction of foreign expertise, which will better serve technological innovation and innovation-driven development and accelerate the construction of an innovative country.

The delegates exchanged views on the management services, experience and expert work results of the third and fourth group of foreign experts of the Thousand Talents Plan.
