Guiyang to strengthen ties with Singapore

Guiyang government officials met with a delegation from Singapore on June 30, hoping to strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, science and technology, tourism, education and big data.

Zhao Deming, secretary of the municipal Party committee of Guiyang, introduced Guiyang's basic situation to the Singapore delegation. "Guiyang, known as the cool city of China, is an important city along the Belt and Road".

Guiyang's environment, transportation and innovation show great potential and opportunity for development. The city is eager to establish a more comprehensive cooperation system to promote development, Zhao added.

Koh Poh Koon, senior minister of the Trade and Industry of Singapore, said that the proposal and promotion of China's Belt and Road Initiative has created conditions for the two sides to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote common development.

"Singapore is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Guizhou in terms of policy communication and economic trade. At the same time, we hope to jointly create more cooperation opportunities in the field of big data with Guizhou to promote the common development of both parties," he said.
