Zhang Jianqiu, CEO of Yili Group held talks to explore more areas of cooperation with Walmart China CEO Chen Wenyuan and his delegation at Yili's headquarters in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on June 13.
During the talks, after reviewing the fruitful cooperation results from the first half of 2018, they outlined further cooperation in the supply chain and exchanged views on future retail innovation.
According to Zhang, Yili has always been committed to providing quality dairy products to customers, which is in line with the vision and strategy of Walmart. He hoped that the two companies would stregthen and expand cooperation in more areas.
Chen agreed with Zhang and was impressed by Yili's innovation capacity and quality control system. He said that their similar business philosophy would reinforce mutual cooperation.
Before the talks, Chen and his delegation visited Yili's factories and learned how the company's manufacturing line operated. They also visited the grassland culture museum and highly praised Yili's efforts in realizing the corporate social responsibility.
Over the past five years, Yili's sales growth rate in WalMart has remained at double digits, especially the dairy series of Anmuxi, Jindian and Changqin. Yili also exclusively published several new dairy products in Walmart.
In March this year, Yili was rated as “Supplier of 2017 – Consumables, Dairy & Frozen” by Walmart, based on the comprehensive index, including quality of products and sales performance.
Yili is the eighth giant dairy producer as over 100 million Yili products are sold daily through 5 million stores or supermarkets across the nation. Since Walmart ranks No 1 in the list of Fortune 500 Companies, the two companies are vital strategic cooperation partners for each other.
The talks deepened the two companies' mutual trust and benefits. Both Yili and Walmart promised to work together to provide quality products and a convenient shopping experience for global customers.
