Two new photovoltaic (PV) power plants were recently connected to the power grid in Wuchuan county and Qingshuihe county in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
With investment of 70 million yuan ($10.53 million), the 10-megawatt PV power plant in Wuchuan county, is the first PV poverty alleviation project in the city.
Along with the 5-megawatt PV power plant in Qingshuihe county, it will provide financial support to 592 households in the two counties to fight poverty and raise living standards.
The two PV poverty alleviation projects were proposed by the municipal government at the beginning of this year, with the aim of establishing a long-term method of fighting poverty in the region.
