June 1 marked the start of this year’s peak summer tourist season in Dalian, Liaoning province, with daily throughput of passengers reaching 60,000 at Dalian International Airport.
The number of scheduled flights will surpass 450 each day during the two-month summer holiday, with the passenger load factor over 90 percent.
To meet the growing demand, the airport has increased its flights to popular destinations both at home and abroad, including Qingdao, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Lanzhou, Mudanjiang, Hailar, as well as Tokyo and Osaka.
There will be 25 flights to Shanghai and 20 to Beijing every day, with more than 10 each to Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
During the peak season, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport two hours in advance during rush hour which last from 6:30 to 8:30 am, 11 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 6:30 pm every day.
The throughput of local water transportation will also see an increase, according to the administration of Dalian Port.
The number of import and export passengers is projected to reach 635,000 during the holiday, while the throughput of traveling vehicles will hit 80,000.
To ensure safe and convenient movement of passengers, the port will carry out a series of procedures, including adding routes, expanding channels for ticket booking and strengthening security networks.
