A Building Information Model (BIM) training program was launched at Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMT) in Hohhot, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on June 28.
BIM is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering and construction professionals the insight and tools to plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructure efficiently.
The training program is sponsored by Horinger New Area in Hohhot, IMT and Business-intelligence of Oriental Nations.
Luo Qing, director of Horinger New Area Management Committee, said at the launch ceremony that Horinger New Area paid much attention to the development of strategic emerging industries, especially the big data industry, while BIM was an extension of big data technology in the construction industry.
BIM will become an essential tool in the construction industry in the future, added Luo.
Horinger will develop more BIM professionals by launching a BIM training program in more universities in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, including Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and Inner Mongolia Technical College of Construction.
The new area will also deepen cooperation with Business-intelligence of Oriental Nations to build a global BIM industry association.
