The first 3,000 share bikes of Hellobike, one of the most popular bike sharing services in China, were introduced to Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on June 29, with a launch ceremony held in Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
The Hellobike service, developed by Shanghai Junzheng Network Technology Co, has expanded to more than 180 Chinese cities with more than five million bikes placed nationwide and 100 million registered users.
The bikes can be unlocked by scanning a QR code on each bike using Alipay or the Hellobike app. The bike is then unlocked using Bluetooth technology.
The bikes will be equipped with a GPS tracking service to track routes and calculate fees.
