A forum themed around “New Era: Baotou Tourism Innovation and Development” was held in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, discussing the development status quo and future direction of the city’s tourism industry, according to a July 2 Baotou Daily report.
The forum, hosted by Baotou Tourism Development Committee, attracted participation by representatives from major universities, key tourist attractions, travel agencies, and three, four and five star-rated hotels.
The forum was devoted to discussions and exchanges on issues related to the development of global tourism, reform of tourism sources, building tourism destinations, the training of tourism staff, and deeper integration of cultural tourism.
The forum also witnessed the launch of Baotou Tourism Think Tank which is aimed at providing strong intellectual support to the long-term development of Baotou city’s tourism industry. A total of 23 experts were recruited.
