A newly-built eight-lane road, extending from Wendagong Road to Shenbei Avenue, will be ready for traffic by the end of June. It is expected to significantly help ease traffic pressure in Yuhong district and the northern part of Huanggu district.
Currently, there is only one main road linking the southern part of Shenyang to its northern area. With the booming economy in the north, traffic congestion frequently occurs during rush hour times.
The new north-south road is around 3.2 kilometers long, with eight lanes, two 2-meter-wide pavements and two 2.5-meter-wide non-motorized vehicle lanes.
To further ease traffic in the city, the municipal affairs department of Shenyang will establish a road linking the Second-ring Road and the Third-ring Road neighboring Lingyuan Street, as well as two bridges over Hunhe River, in the second half of 2018.
