The foundation engineering work on the new Inner Mongolia Revolutionary History Museum being built in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is almost complete, according to an announcement by the project team on June 25.
In total, the site covers an area of 199,200 square meters and has a construction area of 137,600 square meters.
The project was initiated on Sept 25, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed in 2019, said Tian Wanli, deputy secretary of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Northwest Branch Party committee.
With elements of traditional ethnic Mongolian design, the five-story museum will have an arc roof and will be painted white –– an important color in ethnic Mongolian culture. In addition to red decoration which represents revolution, it will serve as a modern revolutionary exhibition base for Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Work on the main structure of the museum is expected to start on July 20.
