The third Pingtan International Marine Tourism and Leisure Sports Expo concluded in Pingtan on June 24.
The total exhibit area was 14,000 square meters, accommodating over 160 exhibitors around the world, up 45 percent year-on-year, according to local authorities.
The three-day exhibition received more than 25,000 visitors, 10,000 more than last year.
A range of exhibits made their debuts at the exhibition, including Pingtan homestays, local delicacies as well as marine tourism products from other countries.
Marine tourism and leisure sports items such as yachts, motor homes, log cabins, submersibles and various outdoor sports items were exhibited in the outdoor area.
The motor home, a popular choice amongst travellers, was the highlight of the exhibition, attracting a huge number of visitors.
The inner space of the largest motor home on display contained a kitchen and a bedroom as well as furniture such as an end table and a couch.
Additionally, visitors were able to immerse themselves in high-technology activities, such as a 3D ocean magic art show and virtual reality games.
Many visitors were impressed with the edutainment of the exhibition, meaning that as well as being educated they were entertained.
According to Lin Jiangling, deputy director of the administrative committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, the expo is set to be established on June 28-30 as an annual event from 2019.
