The site of the Confucius Family Mansion, Temple and Cemetery, also known as San Kong, has been a dissemination center for Confucian culture.

Located at Qufu, the birth place of Confucius, the site has a total of 466 buildings and covers 21.83 hectares.

The main hall -- Dacheng Hall -- is 31.89 meters high and 54 meters wide, with 28 pillars drilled under the corridor.

A large number of inscriptions and carved brick figures are also preserved here, and have become valuable sources for the study of traditional Chinese calligraphy and art.

The site was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO on December 15, 1994.
