Baotou student wins welding ‘World Cup’

Wang Xu, a student from Baotou Vocational and Technical College, placed first in a TIG welding contest at the 2018 Arc Cup International Welding Competition June 22, reports nmgnews.com.cn.

The Arc Cup International Welding Competition, founded in 2010, is hosted by International Institute of Welding and has come to be known as the “Welding World Cup”.

This year’s competition drew participation from 388 competitors in 71 teams, including 20 teams containing 112 participants from BRIC and Belt and Road countries, along with Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
