First China-Russia cargo train leaves Dalian for Moscow

Dalian in Liaoning province launched the first China-Russia cargo train to Moscow, the capital of Russia, June 24. 

The train, loaded with 41 containers, carried Samsung electronic products from manufacturing plants in East and South China.

It will pass through Manzhouli Port, in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and arrive in Moscow after a 14-day journey. 

The train is operated by China COSCO Shipping Co, the country's biggest shipping company in terms of container vessels.

The company has launched several cargo routes linking Chinese cities, such as Tianjin, Shanghai and Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province, with Russia and Mongolia this year.

The new route marks the start of cooperation between the company and Dalian to build the city into a transport hub connecting Southeast Asia with Northeast Asia and Europe, and to add new momentum to the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the construction of the China- Russia Economic Corridor.
