An unmanned supermarket developed by Heilongjiang Liugongli E-commerce Co was promoted at the 29th Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair (HTF) , from June 15 to 19.
The store makes it convenient and simple for customers to do their shopping, while saving on labor costs for operators.
Upon entering the supermarket, customers need to scan a QR code in order to verify their identity.
Thanks to facial recognition technology and radio frequency identification, a customer can walk into the store, purchase products and pay automatically.
Since the store requires no staff, it can be open 24 hours a day, with only cellphone payments accepted.
The automatic supermarket can stock a wide variety of goods, including daily necessities, wine, soft drinks, fruits and vegetables.
The first supermarket was established by Heilongjiang Liugongli E-commerce Co in Hegang city in 2014. Currently, there are a total of 10 supermarkets of this kind in Heilongjiang province.
