The 16th China International Software and Information Service Fair (CISIS 2018) opened on June 12 in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, attracting more than 750 companies from some 30 countries and regions including China, Israel, the United States, Canada and Japan to participate in business matchmaking negotiations.
This year’s fair, under the theme of “a new era of software-defined intelligence”, focuses on new IT technology. The scale of the exhibition will reach 30,000 square meters. It will focus on industries including big data, cloud applications, artificial intelligence and mobile internet of things.
The conference will also include 51 forums.
As China's only national software fair approved by the State Council, the CISIS is organized by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the People's Government of Liaoning Province.
Wang Bingnan, deputy minister of the Ministry of Commerce, said at the opening ceremony that at present, the next generation of information technology is developing quickly, and digital networks and intelligence are deeply integrated. The revolution in the science and technology industry is achieving historic convergence with economic and social development.
Wang said software is the basis of information technology. New technologies and new models represented by big data, cloud computing and e-commerce are some of the most active areas of the science and technology revolution, and are also the highlights of industrial change.
Statistics show that the import and export of the service trade in China has ranked second in the world for four consecutive years, and reached 4.7 trillion yuan ($733 billion) in 2017. The outsourcing of software services in 2017 reached $36.4 billion, year-on-year growth of 10.2 percent.
Wang pointed out that the emerging service industry represented by software and information technology services should be treated with great importance. In this regard, on the one hand, China must promote the extension of service outsourcing and expand service outsourcing businesses to the high end of the value chain. On the other hand, it should actively undertake global offshore service outsourcing and improve the level of internationalization.
