Outdoor exhibition displays paintings and calligraphy in Sanmenxia

Exhibitions don't have to be held indoors. Sanmenxia in Henan province recently held one at a park beneath the dome.

With a focus on "building civilized cities and mapping out a beautiful life", the painting and calligraphy exhibition opened in Sanmenxia People's Park on June 15.

The month-long exhibition displayed 112 works, including 58 calligraphy scrolls and 54 paintings, all of which were produced by artists enjoying national, provincial or municipal titles.

"The exhibition was moved from the exhibition hall to the park, making it easier for the public to experience the artwork", a citizen surnamed Zhang said with excitement.

Calligraphy enthusiasts and painting lovers alike admired and took photos of the exquisite works.

"I will study the photos and learn everything I can from the artists", said a painting teacher.

Each artwork is accompanied by explanatory texts, photos and brief introductions of the artists, making it easy for the public to appreciate and learn from the works and their respective artists, according to Sanmenxia's publicity department.
