Shared charging ports for electric bicycles and vehicles have been well-received in many communities since being introduced to Zhanjiang last year.
Users can park their vehicles in designated areas and access the chargers by simply scanning a QR code with their mobile phones. The device can cut the power off automatically and send a reminding message to the mobile phone of vehicle's owner, when the vehicle is charged to full capacity.
The shared charging ports for electric vehicles were developed by a company in Shenzhen. The device improves the safety of electric bicycle charging, as it provides a visual monitoring platform that allows the government to check the temperature of charging sockets at any time.
After a successful rollout at Beiqiao subdistrict, Haiping community and Jincheng community, more devices will be installed in Zhanjiang's large communities.
