New energy vehicles

Hangzhou is among the first batch of national pilot cities for demonstration and promotion of new energy vehicles and has formed a complete industrial chain of vehicle manufacturing, power battery, charging pile, wheel hub motor and so on. As of 2016, a total of more than 40,000 new energy vehicles were put into use and the output value of vehicles was about five billion yuan.

BYD's new energy bus production base in Hangzhou has an annual capacity of 3,000 pure electric buses and its electric bus fleet includes K6, K8 and K9.
