Harbin student to serve as FIFA flag bearer

Guo Wenbo, a student from Harbin 39th Middle School in the capital of Heilongjiang province, will travel to Russia to represent China as a flag bearer for the 2018 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup.

Guo and 11 other teenagers from China were prizewinners at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Flag Bearer Trials, setting themselves apart from some 2,627 other competitors during the one-month evaluation and assessment period.

Guo has received extensive soccer training and, still under the guidance of professional coaches, he continues to advance his knowledge of soccer theory as well as his practical skills.

In May, 2018, Guo was officially granted the honorable title of “Star of Heilongjiang Provincial Hope Project”.
