The Village Satellite Television Project, a Chinese assistance project to Africa, held a launching ceremony in Kinshasa in the Congo DRC on June 2.
The project was announced during a forum for China - Africa cooperation held in Johannesburg, South Africa and aims to enrich the cultural life of local people in Africa and promote cultural exchanges between China and Africa.
Over 500 villages in Congo are intended to be covered by the project.
China and Congo government officials attended the ceremony.
