Exhibition conference names Changchun the most charming city

The city of Changchun was included in the list of 12 "most charming conference and exhibition cities in China" at an award ceremony of the China Conference and Exhibition Industry Development Conference in Shanghai, June 5.

The capital city of Jilin province also won an award for its Xiaoxia Festival, or summer relaxation festival, a tourism promotional event annually held in summer, at the ceremony.

Focusing on innovation-driven improvement and integrated development, the ceremony aims to promote the branding, internationalization and high quality development of China's convention and exhibition industry.

Awards were given to a group of domestic cities, exhibition centers, conference and exhibition planners as well as festival brands nationwide that promote the conference and exhibition industry.

About 500 experts, government officials and executives of famous companies in the industry, including Zhou Hanmin, a renowned national political adviser, Yuan Zaiqing, president of the China Convention and Exhibition Society, Chen Xianjin, honorary chairman of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and Chu Xiangyin, executive vice president of the China Convention and Exhibition Event Society were present.

Conventions and exhibitions have played an important role in promoting Jilin province in the past several decades, driving the local economic growth and making the province renowned across the world. Many exhibitions and promotion conventions have been held in the city, such as the Northeastern Asia Expo, the Agriculture Expo, the Automobile Expo, ice and snow festival and summer relaxation festivals.
