An exhibition aimed at promoting the intangible cultural heritage achievements of Northeast China’s Liaoning province was held at Shenyang Imperial Palace on June 9.
The exhibition is in line of the theme of Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which was initiated in 2006 with the approval of the State Council; it falls every year on June 9.
Sponsored by Liaoning Provincial Cultural Bureau, the exhibition gave visitors a good opportunity to enjoy traditional crafts such as carving, paper cutting, knitting embroidery, seal drawing, sugar painting and dough modeling; with demonstrations given by craftspeople skilled in traditional art forms.
The exhibition is designed to help educate visitors about China’s traditional crafts, said one craftsman attending the event.
