A signing ceremony for an air rescue service between emergency medical centers in Hohhot and Beijing took place on June 8.
According to the agreement, critically ill patients can be sent from Hohhot to Beijing by helicopter for treatment.
The quality and standard of medical treatment available to patients is much more advanced in Beijing.
In the event of a request for an air rescue, a helicopter will be dispatched promptly to the scene of the incident. By transporting a patient in a helicopter, medics can avoid getting stuck in traffic and get to hospital as quickly as possible.
The new service is expected to dramatically improve emergency response times in Hohhot, as well as save lives.
