Yangzhou, the heart of the Grand Canal which runs from capital Beijing to the eastern business hub of Hangzhou, is to hold an exhibition from June 15 to 18, displaying the cultural and tourism treasures along the river.

The exhibition has attracted some 300 companies from 16 cities along the Grand Canal, such as Beijing and Tianjin in North China, and Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Yangzhou, Xuzhou and Zhenjiang in East China.

Yangzhou Arts and Crafts Group will display a variety of local artifacts, such as jade sculptures, musical instruments, and lacquer ware, a distinctive local intangible cultural heritage.

Time-honored artworks such as Suzhou jade ware, Yixing clay ware, Jingdezhen ceramics (China's porcelain capital), ink stone, root and nut carving and snuff bottles will also be exhibited at the event.

The most anticipated part of the exhibition will surely be the Palace Museum, whose cultural and creative products have enjoyed wide fame on China's social media in recent years for turning historically serious images into more affable figures.

Yangzhou folk dances and music plays will be presented at the event. Experts from the cultural and tourism industries will also deliver lectures and share their insightful ideas.
