Selection matches for Inner Mongolia sports meeting begin in Baotou

Table tennis, tennis and badminton selection matches for the 14th Inner Mongolia Sports Meeting began in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, June 2.

The trials attracted 149 athletes from across the city, according to Baotou Daily.

The players standing out in the selection matches will represent Baotou city in the autonomous region-level sports meeting, which is to take place in July.

The table tennis matches had singles, doubles and mixed doubles. A total of 22 winners will participate in the meeting on behalf of Baotou.

The tennis trials had singles, doubles and mixed doubles, with the top two players of each group selected.

The badminton trials set up singles, doubles and mixed doubles and each group had two winners.

According to Xiao Fengyun, an official from the city’s sports bureau, the selected players will prepare for the autonomous region-level sports meeting after the selection matches.
