The Seventh 'Common Homeland' Forum was held in Pingtan, Fujian province on June 6-8.
Pingtan, located off the coast of East China’s Fujian province, is the closest neighbor of Taiwan.
Themed around “New Era, New Opportunity and New Development”, the event is designed to be a platform to promote exchanges among cross-Straits youth and poor the efforts in building Pingtan into a homeland for both residents from the mainland and Taiwan.
In addition to the main forum, an array of seminars revolving around the topics including entrepreneurship, homestay, as well as cross-Straits cooperation and exchanges in the film and television industry,were held amid the event.
Founded in 2012, the forum, which has been held in Pingtan for six years in a row, has grown to be a key part of the annual Straits Forum in Fujian.
