The second Hohhot intangible cultural heritage exhibition will be held in the city, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region from June 9 to 11, in celebration of Cultural and Natural Heritage Day.
Cultural and Natural Heritage Day falls every June, on the second Saturday. It aims to increase public awareness and create a favorable environment for cultural heritage protection.
Supported by the regional cultural department, bureau of cultural relics and Hohhot municipal government, the exhibition has its main venue at Moni Mountain intangible cultural heritage town with sub-venues around Hohhot including Dazhao Square, Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall and Hohhot Museum.
After the opening ceremony, various activities will take place at the event including intangible cultural heritage and creative products exhibitions, performances and interactive activities.
People skilled in traditional crafts will also be invited to the exhibition to demonstrate their traditional handcrafting techniques. Visitors will be shown how to make Inner Mongolia boots, paint, carve eggs and make porcelain.
