The Dalian China-Japan-South Korea Exchange Association was officially established on June 1, for the promotion of non-government exchange among the three countries.

According to Gao Yugang, chairman of the association, Dalian’s cooperation with Japan and South Korea has accounted for around 70 percent of the city’s total international cooperative ventures.

Dalian, with its distinct geographic advantages, has played an important role in connecting China, Japan and South Korea. In 2017, trade volume among the three countries surpassed $640 billion.

The association’s plans for 2019 include advancing Dalian’s activities with these two international partners in such areas as equipment manufacturing, artificial intelligence, the internet of things and the pension industry.
