Dalian welcomes 1.87m tourists during acacia festival

The number of tourists visiting Dalian, Liaoning province, during the 29th Dalian Acacia Flower Festival, which ran from May 26 to 31, reached 1.87 million.

The 24,500 international visitors and 1.85 million domestic tourists brought local star-grade hotel occupancy rates to 90 percent.

More than 1,300 international guests from Japan, France, South Korea, Malaysia and a dozen other countries took part in the May 26 opening ceremony.

The festival featured 27 activities ranging from folk culture performances and gourmet food fairs to tourism conferences.

The festival not only provided visitors with a multisensory feast but also helped to establish a platform for tourism and cultural exchange.

The festival gave the city’s economic development a boost and furthered Dalian’s international reputation.
