The 6th China Specialty Products Fair was held at the International Wenbo Exhibition Center in Sanmenxia, Henan province from May 25-29.

The five-day event exhibited around 6,000 different types of specialty products in 11 categories from Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan provinces as well as from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), registering a sales volume of 490 million yuan ($76.5 million).

With a focus on products with regional characteristics, the fair was attended by enterprises from a total of 22 Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions as well as 18 countries and regions involved in the BRI.

The exhibition of imported commodities and products from BRI countries gave the fair a more international feel. Specialty products, especially mahogany crafts from India, tropical fruits from Thailand, household appliances from Taiwan, etc., were popular among guests.

In order to strengthen cooperation between exhibiting industries and Henan, Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces, the fair set up a special zone for the display of Luoyang peony and Shanxi vinegar cultures.

Leading enterprises from Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, and Zhumadian in southern Henan province were also invited to the event. An air and water purification zone and a tea culture zone were added in order to highlight the fair's role as an incubator, allowing Sanmenxia to hold such professional exhibitions as the smart home exhibition and tea expo in the future.

The 3rd Internet Plus Specialty Agricultural Products Fair was held on May 28, during which 423 specialty agricultural products in nine categories were exhibited by 65 enterprises from Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan provinces.

A total of 79 enterprises engaged in the negotiation process, including Beijing Agriculture Information and Communication Technologies and Suning.com, 48 of whom reached agreements with exhibitors, signing contracts worth a total of 580 million yuan.

The 6th China Specialty Products Fair attracted nearly 240,000 people, registering an income of 1.8 billion yuan in related industries, such as accommodation, catering and tourism industries.
