Birds on the Liaoning Snake Island-Laotie Mountain National Nature Reserve have progressed through their breeding period and have entered the incubation period, according to the reserve’s administration.
The island is famous as home to more than 20,000 agkistrodons, an endemic snake species. Millions of migratory birds stop on the island to forage each spring and autumn, helping to create a typical island ecological system.
Since mid-April, the local administration has focused on reducing bird hunting, egg theft and other dangers faced by these birds.
