Experts from Silicon Valley in the US visited the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) on May 28.
Xia Mingjiu, vice administrator of SAFEA, met with the delegation and held talks on furthering China-US talent exchanges and technical cooperation.
After he learned about the activities of the US-China Silicon Valley Talent Exchange in recent years, Xia mentioned that this year is the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up in China.
China will continue its international exchange and cooperation with a more open and more active attitude. He pointed out that although there will be some friction in the process of opening-up, resolving friction and conflict is a process in which both sides deepen their mutual understanding and common development.

Xia said that the newly formed Ministry of Science and Technology attaches great importance to the exchanges of experts and scholars, and is willing to provide assistance for experts cooperating with China in their respective fields.
Xue Wei, founder of the US-China Silicon Valley Talent Exchange, introduced the basic situation of Silicon Valley’s talents and activities in China. She said that future activities will not reach only the exchange level, but will lay a good foundation for subsequent cooperation and exchanges.
The experts shared their experiences and suggestions on how to achieve mutual benefit in development of China's science and technology innovation.
