The fifth China-Russia Expo is scheduled to take place in the city of Yekaterinburg, Russia from July 9 to 12.
The expo will showcase the latest products and technological innovations in equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, resource development, agriculture, forestry, engineering, finance, logistics, power, and education.
This is only the second that time the event has been held in Russia, with the first two and the fourth taking place in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province.
After originally being launched in 1990 as the China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, and then being upgraded to the China-Russia Exposition in 2014; the annual expo now focuses on trade and cooperation between the two countries.
This year’s expo has a theme of “new starting point, new opportunity and new future”.
Currently, a total of 11 provinces and municipalities, as well as around 170 large-scale Chinese businesses, have registered to take part in the event.
The exhibition area of the expo will cover 8,500 square meters, with China’s exhibition area accounting for 5,518 square meters.
The China exhibition area is split into two parts –– the comprehensive exhibition area and the commercial area. Products and technological innovations in the sectors of equipment manufacturing, agricultural cooperation, and trade and services, will be on display in the commercial area.
In addition, the expo will host 28 commercial events – including China-Russia forums, China-Russia conferences on transforming innovations, meetings, and exchanges in fields such as electromechanical production, technical standards, mining, finance, customs cooperation and intellectual property protection.
The expo is being hosted jointly by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the provincial government of Heilongjiang.
The event will enable both countries to increase economic ties and promote the signing of agreements between Russian and Chinese firms –– showing off the various strengths and advantages that each country has to offer.
