CIDCA chairman meets with Bakhyt Sultanov, minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Wang Xiaotao, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Bakhyt Sultanov, minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 29, and held in-depth discussions on cooperation.

Wang noted that China and Kazakhstan are close neighbors, good friends and partners with some similarities in development regarding deepening reform and opening up.

With bright prospects in enterprise cooperation between the two sides, CIDCA is willing to cooperate with the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan for the docking of China's Belt and Road Initiative and Kazakhstan's “Bright Road” initiative and for deepened cooperation in various fields, Wang said.

Sultanov congratulated Wang for his appointment as the first chairman of the CIDCA, saying CIDCA's establishment is an important step for China in deepening reform.

He added that Kazakhstan is also vigorously implementing reform and has formulated diversified development strategies in the fields of foreign trade, agriculture, transportation, logistics, and customs. Under the framework of the “Bright Road” initiative, the Kazakhstan government actively supports the Belt and Road Initiative projects, and enjoys strong support from the Chinese government. Many important cooperation projects are being implemented.

The two officials also agreed to jointly promote a customs technology and equipment modernization project to achieve phased results as soon as possible.
