The fourth “Summer of Hunhe River” Culture Festival was unveiled at Yunyang Pavilion in Shenyang on May 26. The festival is expected to be an important event to boost the local culture and tourism industries.
The event, jointly sponsored by the governments of Heping district, Shenhe district, Tiexi district, Hunnan district and Yuhong district, will last for four months until the end of September.
Tourists and local residents will have the opportunity to take part in over 300 activities during the event, including free performances, outdoor films, sampling local customs, and a chance to join sports competitions such as canoeing, roller-skating and walking.
The majority of the indoor activities will be held in Yunyang Pavilion –– a replica pavilion built in the traditional style of the Liao Dynasty (916-1125), which serves as a professional performance venue.
At the opening ceremony of the third “Summer of Hunhe River” Culture Festival held on May 26, performances involving classic dances, Latin dances and brass band music were staged by students from Shenyang Conservatory of Music.
Starting in 2015, “Summer of Hunhe River” Culture Festival has been consecutively held for three years, with the participation of 70,000 performers and artists, as well as millions of visiting tourists.
With the activity’s own logo, theme song and WeChat account, it is rapidly promoting itself and growing its brand influence.
