Yunlin temple fair beckons

The annual Yunlin Folk Culture Festival, also called Qituo Temple Fair, began on May 18 and ran in Wuxi's Xishan district for one week.

As the last of Wuxi's 12 traditional temple fairs, the Yunlin Folk Culture Festival promoted folk art and religious culture with the staging of 32 events featuring lion dancing, waist drumming, stilt walking and other stunt performances.

Citizens taking part in public welfare and charity activities were awarded and commended during the fair. The Qituo Temple also held many Buddhist events including art exhibitions and tea performances.
