Shaanxi province's Xi’an city hosted a tourism promotion activity in Baotou on May 24, seeking more tourists from the largest city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, reports Baotou Daily.
The activity, co-hosted by Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and Baotou Airport, highlighted air routes launched by Xi'an airport and preferential packages.
The aim of the promotion event was to further strengthen air travel cooperation between the two cities and to boost the development of the aviation tourism markets in both places.
To provide convenience for passengers travelling between the two cities, a direct flight between Baotou and Xi’an was reopened on May 16.
The flight, operated by China Eastern Airlines using an Airbus 320, is scheduled to fly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
It takes off from Xi’an at 8:05 am and reaches Baotou at 9:40 am. The return flight departs Baotou at 10:25 and lands in Xi’an at 12:00 pm.
