Shi Zhanhua, a 63-year-old woman running an electronic component processing workshop in the town of Changshun in Huade county, Ulaanqab, staffs her facility with handicapped workers.
Laid off in 1988, Shi had started her own processing business when a chance meeting with a disabled family inspired her to do something to help.
Shi organized professional training for her new employees and encouraged them to be self-sufficient, confident and independent. “My dream is to allow more people with physical disabilities to provide for themselves and make a decent living,” she said.
