A delegation headed by Hideki Ishizuka, Japanese consul general in Shenyang, visited Dalian, Liaoning province, on May 21.
Tan Zuojun, secretary of Dalian municipal Party committee, met with the delegation and extended a warm welcome.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the China-Japan Peace and Friendship Treaty, and the 2018 China-Japan Tourism Communication Conference will be held in Dalian, alongside the 29th Dalian Acacia Flower Festival from May 26 to 31, according to Tan.
He sent a sincere invitation to the Japanese people to take part in the festival and promote bilateral communication and cooperation in more fields.
The government will continue to push forward the opening-up, provide more preferential policies and create a sound business environment for foreign investors, he said.
At the meeting, Hideki Ishizuka expressed his gratitude for the constant support given by the Dalian government to local Japanese businesses and people. He said that the consulate will serve as a bridge connecting the two sides and contribute to strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship.
